Spend your day on a trip to one of the longest and most imposing gorges in Europe.
Samaria Gorge in western Crete has been declared a National Park for its dramatic beauty and rare flora and fauna. It attracts thousands of hiking lovers from all around the world.
We recommend this trip only to individuals who are in good health. Visitors must wear appropriate clothing, footwear and sun protection (hats and sunscreen). They should also have water and food with them.
We start with a 4–6-hour hike from Omalos at an altitude of 1,200 metres
and continue down to the “Wooden Stairs” (Xyloskalo) on a path with imposing mountains to our right and left. The gorge stretches out endlessly in front of us.
The excursion ends with a rejuvenating swim in the Libyan Sea and a boat trip to Sfakia, during which we will gaze at impressive mountainous formations and small coves.
